Arsenal striker Robin van Persie faces a spell on the sidelines after breaking the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
The Dutchman picked up the injury when he scored the Gunners’ equaliser as Arsene Wenger’s side came from behind to beat Manchester United 2-1 on Sunday.
An X-ray after the match confirmed the bad news, his fifth metatarsal had been damaged and he is likely to be out of action for at least six weeks.
Now, Robin van Persie is a major doubt for both legs of the UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against PSV Eindhoven on 20 February (first leg) and 7 March (2nd leg).
